1. Schwarz Gruppe Achieves €167.2 Billion in Revenue with 8.5% Growth 🚀
In the fiscal year 2023, Schwarz Gruppe reported a total revenue of €167.2 billion, marking an 8.5% increase from the previous year. This growth was driven by effective cost and process management despite challenges like inflation and higher input costs. The number of employees remained steady at 575,000, while the number of stores increased by 200, reaching approximately 13,900. Lidl and Kaufland saw significant sales growth, with Lidl’s revenue rising by 9.4% to €125.5 billion and Kaufland’s by 7.8% to €34.2 billion. Online sales, however, declined by 9.4%, aligning with broader market trends post-pandemic.
PreZero, the environmental division, experienced a decline in revenue by 5.9% to €3.7 billion due to lower prices in some raw material markets. Nonetheless, PreZero expanded its service areas significantly. Schwarz Gruppe’s production sector also grew, contributing €4.2 billion in sales, primarily to Lidl and Kaufland, representing a 26% increase.
